Account Manager,  Ottawa - Toronto

We are expanding and looking for additional Account Managers. The BluArc solution has many competitive advantages over traditional VOIP solutions. Technical Support Specialist  ( Ottawa )

BluArc Communications has an immediate requirement for a Technical Support Specialist.

Position Mandate
In this position you will be responsible to:

  • Provide 2nd level pre and post-sale support and solutions raised by BluArc partners and customers
  • Provide solutions for customer requirements including research, procurement, implementation, testing, and documentation.
  • Conduct customer site surveys
  • Manage and monitor the BluArc network including configuration, maintenance, and support
  • Independently troubleshoot reported services issues.
  • Manage assigned cases to closure working with various departments within company.
  • Reproduce reported problems in BluArc's lab.
  • Participate in pager rotation schedule, and work overtime as required.
  • This position may involve working off-hours shifts and customer premises site visits. 

Requirements
To succeed in this position, you will require:

  • Diploma or Degree in Computer or Network Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of IP Networking industry products and protocols.
  • Ability to utilize networking tracing software such as Ethereal.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact well with customers and partners. 
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and deliver known solutions with a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of PBX and Key System features.
  • Knowledge of VoIP terminals, CPE routers, firewalls, and switch products.
  • Knowledge of IP terminal adaptors (FXO, FXS)
  • Knowledge of telephony network topologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • A keen interest in learning and continuous improvement of processes and systems.

Other desirable skills

  • One to two years experience in a post-sales support role.
  • Working knowledge of Voice over IP (VoIP) protocols such as MGCP, SIP, and RTP a definite plus.
  • Industry recognized IT certifications such as CompTIA Network + and Cisco CCNA
  • Familiarity with Solaris, Unix and Linux.
